If you're looking for fun and exciting events to do this weekend, we have that in store for you. Check out this list of Veterans Day and local events happening in Central Florida. Have a great weekend!

1. Jr. Naturalist Program

When: November 10, 2018, 10 am – 11:30 am
Where: IFAS Extension Center, 6021 South Conway Road, Orlando, FL 32812-3604

The Jr. Naturalist Program provides opportunities for students, ages 8-14, to learn about nature through outdoor exploration, environmental activities, and wildlife interaction. For this week, we will be taking a closer look at Florida's Geology Rocks. Join us this week to explore about Florida's natural rocks, crystals, and fossils. The class will explore geology basics such as the rock cycle, rock types, and identification through hands-on activities.


2. Boot Camp for New Dads @ Best Buy 2018

When: November 10, 2018, 10 am – 1 pm
Where: Best Buy, 8350 South Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, FL 32809

Calling all dads! Veteran and new dads are welcome to participate in this event. The one-time, three-hour class provides hands-on realistic experience on how to calm a crying baby, how to change a diaper an many more! Along with the knowledge, confidence, and fun, participants will also receive a copy of "Crashcourse for New Dads" a one of a kind book written from the experience and advice of over 200,00 dads.

3. 2nd Annual 2018 Veteran's Day Street Party

When: November 10, 2018, 1 pm – 8 pm
Where: Ace Cafe Orlando, 100 West Livingston Street, Orlando, FL 32801

Join in as we honor those who served our country at the official after-party following the City of Orlando's Veteran's Day parade! The event is family-friendly and free to the public. There will be live music from Sonic Saloon and Jason Link. On mid-afternoon, an organized 300-person motorcycle ride will arrive at Ace Cafe from Harley Davidson Orlando. There will also be military vehicles on-site, kids' games, obstacle courses, food, and beverages.

4. Caribbean Sunday Brunch

When: November 11, 2018, 11 am – 2 pm
Where: Kalalou Caribbean Bar & Grill, 5160 South John Young Parkway, Orlando, FL 32839

Time to start your week off right! Come to the Kalalou Caribbean Bar & Grill this Sunday for a delicious Caribbean Brunch on this relaxing day. There's an all you can eat buffet for $20 and $10 for kids. Bottomless mimosas are available for only $12. You can eat your favorite island favorites such as Chicken Stew Creole, Boiled Plantains, Caribbean Hot Chocolate and so much more! Don't miss out on this one!

5. Celebration Brass Band-Patriotic Salute Honoring our Veterans

When: November 11, 2018, 6 pm – 7:30 pm
Where: New Covenant United Methodist Church - Fellowship Center, 3470 Woodridge Drive, The Villages, FL 32162

Come to this concert of patriotic music to honor our military veterans presented by the Celebration Brass Band with Jill Van Syckle conducting. Civil War tunes, America and the Beautiful, Stars and Stripes Forever, and a tribute to Leonard Bernstein will highlight the program. Come to this wonderful concert and show your appreciation to our veterans.

6. Northland Family Feast

When: November 11, 2018, 5 pm – 7 pm
Where: Northland Church, 530 Dog Track Road, The Rink, Longwood, FL 32750

Join in this Sunday for the Northland Family Feast! Everyone is invited to friends and family members, along with a favorite dish to share. We'll enjoy a fabulous feast with fun activities and crafts followed by a celebration of praise and thanksgiving led by Northland's Children Choir, Community Art Connection Choir, Student Ensemble, Northland Singing Choir, and the Studios Dance Troupe! Mark your calendars and have fun!

7. Veteran's Day Pen Turning Event - Altamonte Springs

When: November 10, 2018, 11:30 am – 1:30 pm
Where: Rockler Woodworking and Hardware - Altamonte Springs, 515 E Altamonte Drive Suite 1018, Altamonte Springs, Florida 32701

Turn a Pen for $10 and all proceeds will be donated to the National Veterans Foundation. No woodworking experience is required for this workshop, for they will be teaching you the skills needed to complete the pen and go home with a finished project that you can proudly say you made yourself! The course will teach you the basic fundamentals of turning your own pen using carbide wood tools.

8. Veterans Day Tribute

When: November 11, 2018, 6 pm – 7 pm
Where: Winter Springs Town Center, 1160 Florida 434, Winter Springs, FL 32708

The Rotary Club of Winter Springs and the City of Winter Springs will host this annual celebration of our nation's heroes. The event will take place at the Winter Springs Veteran's and Military Service Memorial and offers a time to honor the retired military servants and to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

9. Pet Paradise Orlando Airport Puppy Social

When: November 10, 2018, 2 pm – 4 pm
Where: Pet Paradise Orlando Airport, 5601 Butler National Drive, Orlando, FL 32812

Do you want your puppy to be sociable and adorable to everybody? Puppy socials are a great way to train your pup to be friendly and sociable to humans. So come on to this event this weekend to get your puppies socializing and have fun!

10. It's Swing Party Time!

When: November 11, 2018, 1:15 pm – 4 pm
Where: St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, Parish Life Center, 710 Spring Lake Road, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701

To all disciple volunteers of the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church are invited to an exclusive swing dance party! There will be a delicious, home-style catered lunch and Z Street Speakeasy Band will be there to provide live music from the 1940's. You are encouraged to wear your uniform or civilian 1940's attire.
