Clay Springs Elementary Cans and Change

Now though November 17th 

Food Drive “Cans and Change” is a community service project that provides food baskets for families in the Apopka area. 

Runs Tues, Nov. 1st through Thur, Nov 17th.  The change will be used to purchase turkeys that will be included in the family’s basket.  In addition to change, canned goods and nonperishable food items will be collected.

Cans and Change Item List:

Canned fruit and vegetables, Instant potatoes and canned gravy, Boxed macaroni and cheese, Canned soups, Peanut butter and jelly, Stuffing, Rice and pasta and Tuna.


Bear Lake Elementary Harvest Day

November 17th 

Harvest Day will take place on Nov 17th.  It is a time of year when Bear Lake families donate canned items and non-perishable goods to share with members of Bear Lake Community.  Students will make the annual parade to the front of the Primary center with arms full of canned goods.  Tables will be set up with full meals for our local families.   A “complete meal” or just a few items (please check expiration dates on all items sent in).  Volunteers are also needed to welcome all the generous students on November 17th.  Help is also needed to separate canned items and box up full meals.

1 box of Biscuit/muffin Mix, 1 Box of Instant Mashed Potatoes, 1 Box of Macaroni and Cheese, 1 Box of Stuffing Mix, 1 Large can of Corn (or 2 small), 1 Large can of Green Beans (or 2 small), 1 Large can of Fruit (or 2 small), 1 Large box of Jell-O (or two small), 1 Large can/plastic bottle of Juice (or box of Juice Boxes), 2 lb. Canned Ham, 1 Box Brownie mix or a Boxed Dessert.

Kinder Institute

Kinder Institute are asking for any donations this Thanksgiving for families. Below is a list of some food ideas, will accept any nonperishable food donation.

Some ideas: Canned meats, beans, peanut butter, oodles &noodles, crackers, rice, tuna, cereal, canned vegetables, pasta/stuffing, sauce/gravy, soup, grits, oatmeal, healthy snacks (nuts, granola), canned fruit and meals in soup (chili,stew) etc…Every food donation makes a difference! If you prefer to provide GIFT CARDS to local grocery store Kinder will happily accept this and shop for families accordingly. All donations and 100% of monies received will be granted to the families we serve.

Kinder Institute, is a non-profit that provides case management to children (ages 0-10 years of age) and their family in our community. The majority of children we serve have concerns including: medical, developmental and mental health issues.


Boys Scout Food Drive Collection Bags

November 5th – 12th 

Our Local Boy Scout Pack 46 and Troop 203 will be distributing food collection bags Nov. 5th and Nov. 12th in Wekiva.  The Scouts will pass out bags and pick up filled bags left by our generous homeowners.  Instructions will be on the bag.
